New Delhi: The fourth month of the year 2022, April started today. However, this month begins with a special day, known as April Fools’ Day. People across the world are celebrating the day with great fervour. On this day, people play practical jokes and do pranks with their friends.
However, it is important to note that private and public sector banks will be closed for 15 days in the month of April. If you have any work and want to visit banks, you must be aware of those holidays. The list of holidays comes under ‘Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act’, ‘Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday’, and ‘Banks Closing of Accounts’. This list is prepared by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Many people in Hyderabad will face difficulties as the capital city will witness the most number of bank holidays. In April, the bank in Hyderabad will be closed for nine days. Banks in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla will witness five holidays.
We must tell you that the holidays of banks are also warry as per different occasions in states. In the 30 days of April, six will be weekends.

April 14: Banks to be closed all over India except for Meghalaya and Himachal Pradesh due to Dr. Babasaheb Amedkar Jayanti/Mahavir Jayanti/Baisakhi/ Tamil New Year’s Day
April 15: Banks will be closed on this day all over India except for Rajasthan, Jammu and Srinagar due Good Friday/Bengali New Year’s Day
April 16: Bohaga Bihu festival in Assam
April 17: Sunday
April 21: Garia Puja in Tripura
April 23: Fourth Saturday
April 24: Sunday
April 29: Shab-I-Qada/Jumat-ul-Vida in Jammu and Kashmir
