Bareilly: School kids go school sitting atop auto rickshaw; driver booked after video goes viral

According to reports, Bareilly police took suo moto cognisance of the video and registered an FIR under section 279 (rash driving).

New Delhi: We all have been reading books since school days that traffic rules must be followed while driving. This helps to reduce the chances of accidents on the road. However, an autorickshaw driver is now going viral on the internet for driving the vehicle with school kids sitting on its top. It is reported that the incident happened in Barely.

The viral video was shared on Twitter by a user namely Raj Kumar. He also tagged UP police in the caption. Sharing the video, he wrote, ”How can someone send their children to school with such a careless auto driver. Visuals from UP’s Bareilly. This auto crossed the office of RTO, Nakatia police outpost on Friday but everyone seemed to be sleeping. No action was taken with registration no. UP25ET8342 by @Uppolice.”

According to reports, Bareilly police took suo moto cognisance of the video and registered an FIR under section 279 (rash driving). Sharing the detail on Twitter, Bareilly police wrote, ”The auto rickshaw will be issued challan and action will be taken in the relevant sections.”

SHO of the cantonment police station, Rajeev Kumar Singh, said,  ”we will speak with the school administration to ensure that they do not allow such drivers to endanger the lives of kids.”
