New Delhi: Asaduddin Owaisi’s party All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is shaken as 4 of their 5 MLAs are reported to join Rashtriya Janta dal (RJD) on June 29. Bihar’s leader of opposition Tejashwi Yadav confirmed that 4 of AIMIM’s MLAs are joining RJD.
Tejashwi Yadav reached the Bihar legislative assembly today by driving his own car along with all the four AIMIM MLAs with him. In the afternoon, he had a meeting with the 4 MLAs in Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha’s room. During this meeting, leaving AIMIM’s MLA Akhtarul Iman, every other MLAs of the party were present there.
The four MLAs joining RJD today are Shahnawaz from Jokihat, Bahadurganj’s Mohammad Anzar Naimi, Muhammad Izhar Asfi from Kochadhaman seat and Syed Ruknuddin from Baisi.

“Out of the five Bihar AIMIM MLAs, four have joined our party today. We welcome them. Now we are the largest party in the Bihar Legislative Assembly,” RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said in Patna. Now, RJD will have 79 MLA in the assembly while BJP will have 77, this currently makes RJD the largest party in Bihar. BJP’s number reached 77 by the merger of 3 MLAs from Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP).
