Bihar Elections 2020: Fadnavis, Sushil Modi meet JDU leaders; Oppn seat-sharing finalised, Tejashwi to be CM face

Bihar will vote on October 28, November 3 and 7 for a new government and the results will be announced on November 10.

New Delhi: Bhartiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Bihar election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis and other party leaders including State Deputy CM Sushil Modi and Union Minister Nityanand Rai leave held a meeting with Janata Dal (United) leaders on Saturday.

Meanwhile, BJP and JDU have not announced the seat-sharing agreement for the Bihar Assembly polls yet.

On October 2, Fadnavis attended a meeting of top BJP at Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence in New Delhi over the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) alliance’s situation for Bihar Assembly polls.

Oppn seat-sharing finalised, Tejashwi to be CM face

However, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav will lead the Opposition in the upcoming Bihar elections as his party is all set to contest the polls on 144 out of 243 Assembly seats in the state.

In a press conference held on Saturday, 3 October, Tejashwi announced that the seat-sharing pact between the Bihar Grand Alliance had been finalised and while the RJD will contest on 144 seats, Congress will fight on 70.

The CPI(M), CPI and CPM candidates will fight on 19, 6 and 4 seats respectively.
