Bride runs away with Jewellery, cash a day after marriage in Kanpur; calls groom to say ‘I don’t love you’

New Delhi: In an intriguing incident, a bride in Uttar Pradesh Kanpur run away from home a day after her marriage. However, she also took away cash, jewellery, and other precious items with her. She later called the groom and told him that she does not love her.

Before snapping the call, she also warned her husband not to call her anymore. Soon after the incident husband filed a police complaint.

Investigation launched by the police

The incident is reported to happen on October 4 in the Jadepur village of Kanpur’s Billhaur area. The police said the marriage was fixed with a girl from Bihar by two men who charged Rs 70,000.

The boy married the girl from Bihar’s Gaya district, namely Ruchi on October 1. Notably, the victim paid the money to the men after seeing the photo of the girl in a hotel.

After marrying the girl, he came back to his hometown with her.

Cash worth Rs 30k missing

The police have registered the complaint and launched an investigation into the case. The victim told the police that the girl robbed cash worth Rs 30,000 kept in a box and jewellery and clothes that she received at the time of the wedding.

According to Station House Officer Jagdish Pandey, the accused woman and the men will soon be nabbed.
