‘Budget reflects vision of Amrit Kaal…’: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami lauds Union Govt. for Budget 2023

New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the Budget 2023-23 in Parliament on February 1. BJP leaders are lauding the finance ministry and the government for making a budget that will help the nation’s economy grow as well as the reduced taxes will aid the common man. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also congratulated Nirmala Sitharaman on the budget.

CM Dhami said that today India is the fastest-growing economy in the world under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. Since 2014, the per capita income has more than doubled to Rs 1.97 lakh and in these nine years, the Indian economy has grown as the fifth largest economy in the world. He added that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the budget on the Prime Minister’s mantra of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’. 

He said that the budget is dedicated to inclusive growth, priority to the underprivileged, infrastructure and investment, capacity expansion, green growth, youth power, and the financial sector, this budget reflects the vision of Amrit Kaal. 

CM Dhami stated that the Union Budget 2023-24 is going to strengthen the country’s inclusive development and infrastructure. Keeping in view the food and nutritional security in the budget, the decision to supply free food grains to all priority families for the next year is highly commendable. In the budget, the 50-year interest-free loan to the states has been extended for one more year. 

The Chief Minister said that an agriculture fund would be created to encourage agri-startups by young entrepreneurs and in the next three years, 1 crore farmers will be assisted to adopt natural farming. The agriculture credit target will be increased to Rs 20 lakh crore with a focus on animal husbandry, dairy and fisheries and with this, the farmers, horticulturists, cattle rearers and fishermen of Uttarakhand state will also benefit.

He lauded the PM PVTG Vikas Mission to improve the socio-economic condition of tribal groups. Tourism will be promoted on mission mode with the active participation of states, government and public partnerships. He added that the importance of tourism for the economy of Uttarakhand is very high and the budget will prove to be very helpful in tourism development in the state. The focus will be on the development of border villages through Vibrant Village, which will benefit the border villages of the state.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the new tax slabs and also announced that in the new tax regime, income tax rebates in personal income will be for individuals earning Rs 7 lakh, rather than Rs 5 lakh. Chief Minister Shri Dhami said that new tax slabs will give a lot of relief to the middle class.

He said that this budget has also been special for our senior citizens and women. The limit of the Senior Citizen Account Scheme will now be increased from Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 9 lakh and a new savings scheme for women has been announced.

CM said that in the budget where all sections of the poor, middle class, women and senior citizens have been taken care of, special attention has also been paid to the strengthening of the economy.

He concluded that it is truly the budget of Amrit Kaal and he has faith that Uttarakhand and the people of the state will be fully benefited from the budget.
