CCTV Video of the moment when rocket propelled grenade hit Police Intel HQ in Mohali

New Delhi: A CCTV footage of the rocket-propelled grenade attack on the Punjab Police Intelligence headquarters in Mohali surfaced on the social media today. The intelligence installation was targeted by terror operatives on Monday.

The initial investigation found that the RPG was hurled from a near distance allegedly by some miscreants travelling in a car. After targeting the Intelligence headquarters, they fled the scene.

Now, the CCTV footage gives a whiff of the modus operandi. In the CCTV footage, regular vehicular traffic near the building is seen on the roads. Suddenly, there is a flash of bright light which illuminates the whole area briefly and impacts the cameras also.

The rocket propelled grenade had hit the third floor of Punjab Police Intelligence HQ at 7.45 PM in the evening, however no casualty were reported but windscreens were smashed. Police didn’t call it a terror attack but also didn’t rule out from being one. State police is on high alert and hunt is on for attackers. A man who provided logistics support has been arrested and a couple of other suspects have been rounded up for investigation.

Khalistani link is being investigated for plotting the attack on key security installation. Intel agencies believe that it is the handiwork of Khalistani element who conducted this, with support from Pak based terrorists.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took note of the explosion and said that the strictest punishment will be meted out to those who try to spoil the atmosphere of state.
