Live coverage of the Chandrayaan-3 landing will be available on the official website of ISRO, the ISRO Facebook page, the official YouTube channel of ISRO, and both DD National and other TV broadcast stations.

New Delhi: The highly scrutinised Chandrayaan-3 mission is finally set to touch down on the lunar surface tonight. People from all around the nation will be watching the landing on August 23.  The mission got more importance after the failure of Russia’s Luna-25 mission. As India prepares to make history by landing on the lunar south pole with Chandrayaan-3, its every action will be broadcast live on social media and television.

The mission’s launch on July 14 from Sriharikota’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre was a little over five weeks ago. Separation of the ‘Vikram’ lander module (LM) from the spacecraft’s propulsion module was completed on August 17. Afterwards, the spacecraft went through critical deboosting manoeuvres and settled into an orbit that was somewhat lower in altitude.

When to watch the historic moment?

Today, at around 6:04 pm Indian Standard Time (IST), Chandrayaan 3 is scheduled to perform a gentle landing on the south pole of the Moon. On Sunday, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), announced that people from across the globe would be able to witness the landing of Chandrayaan-3 on August 23 at 6:04 pm IST.
