CM Dhami launches Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana, transfers Rs 3,000 into accounts of children via DBT

Under the CM Vatsalya Yojana, the government will take responsibility for such children who have lost their parents and will provide assistance of Rs 3,000 per month.

New Delhi: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday launched Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana at his official residence. Under the scheme, CM Dhami made a direct transfer of Rs 3,000 into accounts of children hit by Covid-19 pandemic. Many of them got orphaned during the pandemic while some lost their single parent to Coronavirus.

Under the 1st phase of scheme, financial benefit is being extended to about 1062 children. A total of 2347 boys and girls aged under 21 years have been identified for receiving the benefits of Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana.


Launching the mission, CM Dhami said, “It is not possible to compensate for the departure of parents and guardians of children during the Corona period. But the state government will always take care of them like a guardian.”

Chief Minister Vatsalya Yojana aims to help children who lost their parents or the earning member of their family during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Under the CM Vatsalya Yojana, the government will take responsibility for such children who have lost their parents and will provide assistance of Rs 3,000 per month.

Besides monetary assistance, the state government will also provide free education, ration and health facilities, till the time they attain the age of 21.

State Minister Rekha Arya informed that Vatsalya Yojana will cover those children whose earning parent or guardian died due to the pandemic.

“Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana has been implemented for the care of the affected children, rehabilitation, protection of movable immovable property, inheritance and legal rights. Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs 3000 per month will be given to the children under the age of 21 years,” she said.
