CM inaugurates/ lays foundation stone of 256 development projects worth Rs 899 crore in Jaunpur

The Chief Minister unveiled the statue of Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap and announced a gift of 256 development projects worth Rs 899 crores for Jaunpur, related to roads, drinking water, and overall development on the occasion.

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Saturday, said that the sole goal for 2024 should be electing the Modi government at the center. Addressing the residents of Jaunpur, he urged people to reaffirm their allegiance to Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The Chief Minister unveiled the statue of Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap and announced a gift of 256 development projects worth Rs 899 crores for Jaunpur, related to roads, drinking water, and overall development on the occasion. Besides, the Chief Minister provided beneficiaries of various schemes with keys, cheques, tablets, laptops, and more.

CM Yogi mentioned the fulfillment of long-standing demands of people through a triple engine government by giving decisive victory to Manorma Maurya in the municipal elections. He assured the residents that upon his return, he would inaugurate the development projects.

“When the country celebrates the centenary of independence, we need to envision the kind of India we desire. PM Modi had pledged the five resolutions for a developed India. It is also a commitment to permanently end the remnants of slavery. Maharana Pratap stands as a great hero who broke the chains of slavery. He had declared that he would rather eat grass, but never bow to foreign rule,” Yogi said.

CM Yogi further mentioned that even after centuries, the valour of national heroes like Maharana Pratap, Chhatrapati Shivaji, Guru Govind Singh, and Rani Lakshmi Bai make every Indian proud. The statue of Maharana Pratap symbolizes the same spirit of self-respect that inspires us to walk the path of nationalism.

He said that the land of Jaunpur is known for its hardworking people. “The people here have earned recognition for their perfumes and imarti through hard work and dedication. The residents of this place have excelled in various fields and showcased their talent through entrepreneurship”, he stated.

Attacking the opposition, the CM asked the common people whether the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and Kashi Vishwanath Dham in Kashi could have been built if there was not a double-engine government at the center and in the state. He mentioned how the opposition used opposed events like Jalabhishek in Kashi. In India, riots were organized before festivals, he said.

“Today, the government encourages and supports peaceful celebrations of festivals, ensuring security. The government does not tolerate any mischief under the guise of security, and those who attempt such actions will have to pay the price,” Yogi added.

The CM emphasized that the country has undergone a transformation, witnessing the emergence of a new India. While in the past, there were clashes over chanting “Jai Shri Ram,” now the world is coming to witness the Ayodhya pilgrimage. Through Modi ji’s Guaranteed Welfare Scheme, every section of society is being given the benefits of welfare schemes and the guarantee of livelihood.

CM Yogi further informed that Jaunpur is witnessing an investment of Rs 3300 crores due to an improved security environment. “The establishment of an STPI is underway. The construction of the Forelane-Ring Road is in progress. Bridges are being built over the Gomti River, and beautification of intersections is taking place. Every poor person is being provided with ration, and through the “One District, One Product” initiative, efforts are being made to gain global recognition for local products”, he remarked.

“Clean drinking water is reaching every household, and every underprivileged person is benefiting from the Ayushman scheme. During the COVID-19 pandemic, those whose parents were affected by the disease are receiving pensions, allowances, and educational facilities from the government. Atal Residential Schools have been established for the children of laborers, and similar schools are planned in every district. The construction of the Sw. Uma Nath Singh Government Medical College is in its final phase. The dream of having a medical college in Jaunpur is now a reality. This is the strength of the double engine government,” Yogi added.

CM Yogi remarked a country where there is reverence for national leaders cannot be defeated. The renowned poet Shyam Narayan Pandey from Mau, near Jaunpur, eloquently showcased Maharana Pratap’s courage and valor to the world through his work on Haldighati. Whenever he recited about Haldighati during poetry gatherings, it ignited enthusiasm worldwide, the Chief Minister pointed out. These remarkable individuals, through their connection with the masses, infused life into words and celebrated emotions, he said.

On this occasion, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister of Yogi Government Girish Chand Yadav, Rajya Sabha MP Seema Dwivedi, BJP candidate from Jaunpur Lok Sabha Kripashankar Singh, MLAs Ramesh Chandra Mishra, Ramesh Singh, Dr. RK Patel, Awadhesh Singh, Legislative Council member Brijesh Singh Prinsu, Chairman Manorama Maurya, BJP District President Pushparaj Singh, Machhlishahr President Ramvilas Pal etc. were present.
