As many as 33 lakh people across 1298 villages of Gondal, Jetpur, Upleta, Dhoraji, Jamkandorna, Ranavav, Porbandar, Kutiyana talukas will be benefitted through this scheme.

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupanitoday performed the groundbreaking of Navda-Chavand bulk pipeline project of worth Rs. 644 Crores.

Addressing the farmers of the state from Chavand in Lathi taluka of Amreli district, CM Rupani said that state government is fully committed to meet the electricity and water needs of the farmers of the state. The state government is planning for that through good governance, so the people of Saurashtra do not face water scarcity due to low rainfall.

Mr. Rupani said that this confluence of sea and river water will prove to be a milestone in the time to come. State Government is committed to complete the “Sauni” scheme in the year 2021, which was flooded with the efforts of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make Gujarat a water-rich state. He gave a glimpse of the development works worth Rs. 1976 crore done in the last two days in the state. On this occasion, the Chief Minister called on the first Chief Minister of the state, Dr. Jivraj Mehta and Rajvikavikalapi.

Secretary Water Supply Mr.Mayur Mehta delivered welcome note. Chief Minister was greeted by dignitaries of Amreli district.A short documentary detailing the Navda-Chavand bulk pipeline project to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister was aired on the occasion. Water Supply Minister Mr. Kuvarjibhai Bavaliya detailed about the scheme.

On the occasion MLA’s J. V. Kakdiya, District BJP President Mr. Kaushikbhai Vekaria, Gujcomasol Chairman, Former Minister, Former MLA, Collector, District Development Officer, Chief General Manager of Gujarat Water Infrastructure Limited as well other dignitaries and officials were present.
