CM Yogi announces Rs 136 crore development projects for Mau, vows to free Purvanchal from floods
UP CM said that Purvanchal Expressway will emerge as the backbone of the development of Eastern Uttar Pradesh and it will give strong impetus not only to economic activities but will also unravel scores of employment opportunities for youth.
New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday announced a slew of developmental projects amounting to Rs 136 crore Mau, the land which gave many freedom fighters. The Chief Minister also pledged to make Purvanchal area get rid of the flood problem permanently.
“The Jalshakti department of UP has prepared a plan to give smooth channel to the rivers so that they may flow on their natural course. In turn, this will provide a long term solution to the flood problem of the region, ” CM Yogi pointed out while addressing public rally during his visit to Mau district.
CM Yogi reiterated his government’s commitment to security and safety of women and girls.
“Who has thought of 4 to 6 lane highways only till a few years ago but then in the guidance of PM Modi, the state government made it a reality,” he pointed out.
Purvanchal Expressway to become backbone of Eastern UP
UP CM said that Purvanchal Expressway will emerge as the backbone of the development of Eastern Uttar Pradesh and it will give strong impetus not only to economic activities but will also unravel scores of employment opportunities for youth.
Recalling how Azamgarh was known for all wrong reasons till recently, the UP CM said the developmental activities started here during the last three years has given it a new identity.
“Soon, Azamgarh will have an airport and people of this area will not have to travel to Varanasi for air travel, ‘ he said.
He also shared details of developmental activities being undertaken in Azamgarh including an airport and state university.
UP govt paid 1.12 lakh crore to cane farmers since 2017
The CM said that PM Modi has taken some unprecedented steps in the past six years which are there for everyone to see and realise.
“On December 25 next, the prime Minister will transfer Rs 18000 crore in the accounts of nine crore farmers under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi,” he informed while further pointing out that UP government has made payment of Rs 1.12 lakh crore to cane farmers since 2017 and also revived the sugar mills which were closed during previous regime in the state.
He said the welfare of women has always been top on his government’s agenda and only a couple of days ago, he transferred Rs 445 crore in the revolving funds to benefit over 97000 Self Help Groups (SHGs).
