CM Yogi livid over anomalies in paddy purchases, In-charges of 8 Centres and middleman booked

The state govt has registered separate FIRs against 10 persons including 8 In-charges of paddy purchase centres for irregularities in paddy procurement. Those booked also include 1 middleman and another person.

New Delhi: Keeping up its promise of zero-tolerance in governance, Yogi govt has acted against anomalies in paddy purchase process and booked those directly or indirectly involved.

The state govt has registered separate FIRs against 10 persons including 8 In-charges of paddy purchase centres for irregularities in paddy procurement. Those booked also include 1 middleman and another person.

State administration took swift action after the matter came to Chief Minister’s notice and the latter expressed deep displeasure over wrongdoings in the paddy procurement from farmers. CM Yogi directed the officials to be tough on those who are unsympathetic towards the cause of farmers.

He also directed officials to apprehend and punish those who are found involved in such illegal activities at the paddy purchase centres.

The erring persons booked included 3 centre in-charges of Pilibhit, 2 of Shahjahanpur and 1 each of Bareilly, Kanpur Nagar and Hardoi and also against a middleman and another person who were also found involved in anomalies.

5 centre in-charges of Bareilly division have also been suspended. As many as 21 others have been handed warnings and 178 served show cause notices for laxity in the paddy purchase process.
