CM Yogi performs ‘Rudrabhishek’ on MahaShivratri, prays for public welfare

He performed Lord Shiv’s ‘Rudrabhishek’ with cow milk in the Shakti Mandir on the first floor of the Gorakhnath Temple.

Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday performed ‘Rudrabhishek’ in Shri Gorakhnath Temple here on the occasion of Mahashivratri and prayed for everyone’s welfare and prosperity.

From 7 in the morning until 2.45 in the afternoon, the Chief Minister kept busy, visiting and offering prayers at temples.

He performed Lord Shiv’s ‘Rudrabhishek’ with cow milk in the Shakti Mandir on the first floor of the Gorakhnath Temple. After Rudrabhishek, the Chief Minister performed Havan and Aarti and then prayed to Mahadev for the wellbeing of the entire world.

Prior to this, the Chief Minister also offered prayers at the Shiva temple located in the Gorakhnath temple complex. He worshiped Lord Nandi here and performed ‘Jalabhishek’ of Lord Shiv.

Guru Gorakshnath is believed to be the incarnation of Lord Shiva in the Nath sect and Mahashivratri is considered to be a very important occasion in the sect.

After completing the rituals of Mahashivaratri at Gorakhnath Temple, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the ancient Mansarovar Shiva Temple at Andhiyari Bagh, Mukteshwarnath Temple at Rajghat and Jharkhandi Mahadev Temple at Jharkhandi. CM Yogi gave instructions to the officials during the tour of the temples to make all necessary preparations for the security, order, and convenience of the devotees everywhere.

After offering his prayers at the historic Mansarovar temple in Andhiyari Bagh, the Chief Minister immediately reached out to the kids to bless them and give them Mahashivratri’s “Prasad.”

In the afternoon, the Chief Minister reached the Piteshwarnath temple in Bharohiya block in Pipiganj area of Gorakhpur where he performed ‘jalabhishek’. He prayed for the wellbeing, salvation, success, and peace of all people. Deep ties exist between Gorakshpeeth and the Piteshwarnath temple. Every Mahashivaratri, ‘Gorakshpeethadhishwar’ visits this place to perform Jalabhishek.

Chief Minister extends his best wishes to people

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended best wishes to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivaratri. Taking to Twitter, UP CM said, “Today on the auspicious occasion of ‘Mahashivratri’@Gorakhnathmndr, I performed Rudrabhishek according to the rules and regulations.v May the blessings of Devadhidev Mahadev always be with all of us. Har Har Mahadev.”
