New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday released a video of Rajasthan Police taking along Ajmer Dargah cleric Salman Chisti whose video of issuing murder threats to suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nupur Sharma went viral, two days ago.
Tweeting the video, BJP IT-cell chief Amit Malviya claimed that the Gehlot cops could be seen in the video tutoring the accused on how to save himself. The cops are reportedly telling the accused to accept that he was drunk when he recorded the provocative video as this would save himself from facing the law.
Tweeting the video, Amit Malviya asked, “Do #HinduLivesMatter in Congress rule?”
In this video, Ashok Gehlot’s police is seen tutoring Salman Chishti, who called for Nupur Sharma’s beheading, to claim that he made the statement in an inebriated condition, so that he can be saved. Yesterday, the Additional police superintendent Vikas Sangwan told mediapersons that Chisti was absconding for two days and was arrested on Tuesday night. He also said that Chisti made the video in inebriated state.
On the other hand, BJP sources claimed that Chisti has admitted before that he doesn’t drink. Moreover, he has been a history-sheeter and has several cases lodged against him at Ajmer police station.
Chisti recorded a video in which he threatened to kill Nupur Sharma with bullets for insulting Prophet Muhammad.
He also went on to announce that he would reward anyone who hacks Nupur to death and brings her head to him.
“I will give my house to anyone who beheads Nupur Sharma”, Ajmer Dargah cleric said in the highly provocative video.
The incendiary video created huge uproar on social media with many calling for strict action against the hatemonger. Chisti was booked under the Information Technology Act & IPC section 153-A (promoting enmity on grounds of religion) after the video went viral.
