Covid-19: CM Rupani visits Civil hospital in Jamnagar, motivates patients’ relatives

Meanwhile, Gujarat government has decided to pay interns and resident doctors on coronavirus duty Rs. 5,000 per month Covid Incentive Allowance, in addition to their stipend, till June 30, 2021.

New Delhi: Setting a new example of good governance, Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani on Saturday paid a visit to Civil Hospital in Jamnagar district and spent time with the relatives of patients. While interacting with the relatives, CM Rupani heard their ordeal and also motivated them to keep their spirits high in fight against fatal Coronavirus.

The attendees were apparently those whose family members were admitted in hospital, having contracted Coronavirus. With Chief Minister taking a lead in consoling and motivating people at the hospital to overcome with Covid-19, the gesture is winning wide praise and admiration.

Rs 5,000 monthly allowance for doctors/interns on Covid-19 duty

Earlier, the Gujarat govt announced to pay monthly Covid incentive allowance of Rs 5,000/- per month for Covid-19 duty.

Gujarat Government’s Health Department said that it will pay interns and resident doctors on coronavirus duty Rs. 5,000 per month Covid Incentive Allowance, in addition to their stipend, till June 30, 2021, for their noble service to the corona patients during the prevailing pandemic situation.

And, this special monthly allowance was over and above their monthly stipend of Rs 13,000.

Close to 9,000 cases in 24 hrs, active cases @ 50,000

In past 24 hours, Gujarat reported 8,920 new cases of Covid-19 while 94 deaths. Among the new cases, Ahmedabad posted highest figures with 2,842 cases followed by Surat with 1522.

Gujarat govt has administered over 1 crore doses of Corona vaccine as per the latest figures shared by the Health Department.

Till date, the state has administered 1,00,13,881 cases. In last 24 hours, more than 1,31,000 lakh persons were vaccinated.
