Curbing Covid-19 in villages: Convert community health centers into ‘oxygen equipped’ L-1 facility, CM Yogi directs officials

4 Community Health Centres (CHC) hospitals in each district of Uttar Pradesh are being converted into L-1 Plus. These hospitals will have a total of 50 beds with oxygen concentrators and a special team of doctors for 24-hour monitoring of patients.

New Delhi: After effectively tackling the situation in the urban hubs, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has shifted his focus on rural areas of the state to provide adequate health facilities for the COVID infected patients. In a bid to strengthen health services in villages, CM Yogi has ordered to covert the CHC hospitals into L-1 Plus. The major lifeline will be the oxygen concentrators facility which will provide great relief to the patients in the rural areas

CHC centers to be converted into L-1 Plus hospitals

Ever since taking control of the State, the well-being of the rural parts of the State has been of utmost importance for CM Yogi. Amidst the second wave of COVID-19, CM Yogi is determined to end the Covid surge in rural areas and protect villages “at any cost” with his effective strategies and management. Even the WHO has highlighted the UP Govt’s initiative to reach out to people in rural areas, to increase COVID testing, tracing & vaccination in such areas.

With the constant efforts of the government in ensuring better health infrastructure, 4 Community Health Centres (CHC) hospitals in each district of Uttar Pradesh are being converted into L-1 Plus. These hospitals will have a total of 50 beds with oxygen concentrators and a special team of doctors for 24-hour monitoring of patients. The L-1 beds are generally the isolation beds but with oxygen facilities.

No more oxygen crisis in rural areas

It is worth noting that being the most populous state, UP’s fight against COVID-19 has been the most challenging. To maintain adequate availability and supply of medical oxygen to covid patients in the rural areas amid the prevailing pandemic, CM Yogi has directed to equip these 4 CHC hospitals in each districts with L-1 plus facilities. There will be modern oxygen machines overcome the problem of oxygen .

Order placed for 17000 oxygen concentrators

“As per the instructions of CM Yogi for providing oxygen in rural areas, order of 17000 oxygen concentrators have been placed which will be available as soon as possible”, informed Director General of Health, DS Negi.
