Danish Azad Ansari has become the lone Muslim minister of state in the Yogi Adityanath’s cabinet after taking an oath.

New Delhi: In Lucknow’s Ekana International Cricket Stadium, the oath-taking ceremony of  Yogi Adityanath and his leaders in the new cabinet was successfully completed on Friday.

During the ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister of BJP ruling states such as Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Haryana, and Manipur were present at the event with other leaders. It is reported that around 50,000 people thronged at the event.

In the new cabinet of CM Yogi, there will be 52 ministers, including two deputy ministers. However, the surprise came in the name of Danish Azad Ansari, who has become the lone Muslim minister of state in the Yogi Adityanath cabinet after taking an oath.

Who is the sole Mulsim minister, Danish Azad Ansari?

Danish Azad Ansari belongs to the eastern Ballia. The 32-year-old has been associated with BJP since 2011. Meanwhile, he worked for BJP’s student wing, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).

Ansari helped the BJP to garner minority votes in both the UP assembly election. After the 2017 assembly election in the state, he became a member of the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmad Memorial Committee of the UP government. He also went on to become a member of the state’s Urdu language council. It is reported that he helped the BJP to make its minority morcha more strong.

”I thank the party for giving an ordinary party worker like me such a big opportunity,” said Ansari after taking oath in the Yogi 2.0 cabinet.

However, Danish did not fight the 2022 UP election. It is yet to be seen whether he contest the election from Legislative Assembly or the Legislative Council to continue his ministerial journey.

Notably, the BJP government in UP made Mohsin Reza a minister from the Mulsim community in 2017. This time, his has now been removed.
