Delhi Crime: Neighbour shoots pregnant woman for objecting to loud music, dies during treatment

The PCR call regarding the firing incident was recieved by the police on April 3 from Siraspur.

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old woman died after being shot by her neighbour, she was pregnant and suffered miscarriage.

She died at a city hospital on Sunday, said Polcie.

The woman identified as Ranju was allegedly shot at by her neighbour for objecting to loud music  that was being played during a function at his home.

The neighbour has been identified as Harish on April 3.

Senior Police Official said that the woman who was shot by her neigbour was undergoing treatment where her condition was critical.

Officer said that on Sunday they recieved the information from the hospital that she had succumbed to her injuries.

After the death of the woma, Police said that in the FIR they added Section 302 (murder).

Police also said that the woman’s neighbour Harish and his friend Amit, whose gun was used to shoot the woman have been arrested.

After Police reaced the crime spot, they were informed that the victim-Ranju was admitted to Max Hospital in Shalimar Bagh. Howver, the doctors told police that she was shot on neck and was not at the stage to give nay statement, said Ravi Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) .

Police said that they have registered a case under sections 307 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 27 against them.

The victim’s husband worked as a labourer and they hailed from Bihar . The couple was living in a rented house.
