Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court extends Manish Sisodia’s remand by 5 more days

Delhi’s former Deputy Chief Minister is accused of irregularities in the framing and implementation of the excise policy of GNCTD, following which ED filed a money laundering case against him.

New Delhi: Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court extended Manish Sisodia’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) remand by five more days. Delhi’s former Deputy Chief Minister is accused of irregularities in the framing and implementation of the excise policy of GNCTD, following which ED filed a money laundering case against him.

Sisodia will be in ED’s remand till March 22 and will be produced in the court on the same day his remand period gets over. While Manish Sisodia was arrested by CBI on February 26 in the liquor policy case and is under judicial custody in that case. He was sent under ED’s remand on March 10.

As per advocate Zoheb Hossain, who is appearing for the ED, Sisodia changed his mobile phone the same day the LG VK Saxena ordered a CBI probe. ED also cited a mail dump.

Sisodia’s lawyer argued that it is all previously cited in CBI’s case and there cannot be a reason for extending the remand in the money laundering case as ED has given no proof of the same.

Sisodia also addressed the Court and said that the officials interrogate him for half an hour and then take a break while there is no questioning in the first half of the day. He asked the officials to question him and finish their job.
