ED seizes BMW car worth Rs 30 lakh of conman Golden Baba

Earlier, an amount of Rs. 50.47 lakhs available in 3 bank accounts maintained in his name was frozen under PMLA, 2002.

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized a BMW 520 D vehicle valued at Rs. 30 lakhs, belonging to conman Jyoti Ranjan Beura @ Golden Baba during search operation in money laundering case.

Jyoti Ranjan Beura @ Golden Baba came under ED lens after he defrauded businessmen in Odisha, in lieu of providing business loans to the tune of Rs 5.550 crore (approx). The agency launched investigation against him on basis of chargesheet & FIR filed against him by EOW, Bhubaneswar for alleged money laundering.

ED in its probe found that Jyoti Ranjan Beura signed agreements with various persons and entities to provide financial assistance in their business while projecting him as the proprietor of M/s Jyoti Trading & Co. In lieu of this, he received money and chose to siphon off the advance amount through forged and fabricated documents.

Earlier, an amount of Rs. 50.47 lakhs available in 3 bank accounts maintained in his name was frozen under PMLA, 2002.

An AUDI Q5 vehicle was also seized from him under money laundering charges. The investigating agency is currently probing the financial transactions of Golden Baba.

Further investigation is under progress.
