Ex-tennis star Andre Agassi meets Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami

In their courtesy meeting, the two discussed about the works of the Andre Agassi Foundation in the state.

New Delhi: American tennis player and former world number 1 Andre Agassi met CM Pushkar Singh Dhami in his camp office in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. In their courtesy meeting, the two discussed about the works of the Andre Agassi Foundation in the state. During the meeting, CM Dhami gifted him an idol of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Laxmi to mark prosperity, and also honoured the guest with a flower pot.

Agassi is known for his charitable work. He founded the Andre Agassi Foundation in 1994 to help vulnerable children. In the year 2001, he opened the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy, a free school based for disadvantaged children. His foundation working in Uttarakhand is a positive step towards the development of vulnerable children in the state and the people affected by natural calamities.

CM Dhami tweeted about their meeting and wrote that he met the world-famous tennis legend, Andre Agassi, and also mentioned a detailed discussion about the Andre Agassi Foundation.

In his tennis career, Agassi has won a total of eight grand slams including Wimbledon, the U.S. Open, the Australian Open and the French Open. It is said that he could serve a tennis ball on the court at the age of 2. Not just his style of playing, he was popular among the fans for his looks and outfits. In the 90s, he brought the bald head as a trend in tennis. With eight slams and one Olympic gold, Agassi retired from the sport in 2006. However, he went on to coach tennis star Novak Djokovic.
