Exit poll Results 2023: Seat projections for MP, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana & Mizoram today evening

Out of five states, two of them are currently ruled by Congress, one by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and one by Bharatiya Rashtra Samiti (BRS).

New Delhi: The Exit poll results for 2023 Assembly Elections in 5 states – Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram are set to start pouring in after 6.30 PM today, moments after voting comes to a halt in the Southern state.

The slew of Exit polls will provide comprehensive seat projection for all 5 states and will also shed light on the public mood and existing political trends across the length & breadth of country.

Out of five states, two of them are currently ruled by Congress, one by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and one by Bharatiya Rashtra Samiti (BRS).

Boht BJP & Congress mounted an aggressive campaign during the month-long hustings to sway the public mood in their favour. The central leadership of both parties resorted to election blitzkrieg in the Hindi heartland states.

Today’s Exit polls will give a fair idea of the public opinion and their inclination towards any party. This assumes great importance as this will set the mood for Lok Sabha elections, next year and help poll pundits guage the public mood.

BJP aims for ‘saffron sweep’ in Hindi heartland

BJP currently rules Madhya Pradesh but its eyes are set on all 3 Hindi heartland states including Chhattisgarh & Rajasthan. The saffron party is relying heavily on all these states for its return to power at the Centre in 2024 elections. The party has set an ambitious target of bettering its 2019 tally (close to 350 seats) and for pulling off such feat, it needs strong public support not just in these 3 states but also ‘unexplored’ states like Telangana.

Will KCR’s hold weaken?

K Chandrashekhar Rao-led Bharatiya Rashtra Samiti (BRS) has been ruling the roost since the creation of state and has largely remained unchallenged from both BJP & Congress. In 2014 & 2018 elections, the Congress stood as the runner-up party. BJP has been trying to make inroads in the Southern state but its efforts haven’t yielded results yet. This time though, both parties are hoping to encash on the anti-incumbency against BRS govt.

Which way Mizoram will sway?

In Mizoram’s battleground, the regional satraps decide the election outcome. In previous elections, BJP despite being a minor player, managed to become part of government. Its regional ally MNF registered landslide victory and formed the government. BJP could barely open its account with 1 seat in last elections.
