Experts praise Yogi govt’s efforts to eradicate tuberculosis in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is working with determination to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of making the country TB-free by 2025. Directives have been issued to various departments, emphasizing enhanced TB screening and testing through collaborative efforts, ensuring comprehensive treatment, and providing government assistance. The impact of these measures is evident not only at the community and administrative levels but has also earned recognition from experts.

Experts from the National Institute of TB and Respiratory Diseases and the National Task Force Medical College have lauded the Yogi government for Uttar Pradesh’s groundbreaking achievement as the first state in India to consistently organize regular clinics over the past two years.

Through this initiative, all District Tuberculosis Officers and other departmental officials in Uttar Pradesh have the opportunity to directly connect with specialists online, sharing their challenges and finding effective solutions. Uttar Pradesh stands out as the first state in the country to consistently organize this clinic for the past two years.

During the 50th online clinic held last Tuesday under the guidance of the State Tuberculosis Unit, Dr Ashok Bharadwaj, President of the National Task Force Medical College, and Dr Rajendra Prasad, Vice President of the Task Force, National Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, New Delhi, Consultant TB, Dr Roopak Singla, congratulated Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for Uttar Pradesh’s pioneering status as the first state where the clinic has been organized continuously for two years.

During the online clinic, employees associated with the DR TB Center brought attention to treatment challenges, seeking guidance from specialists. Expert physicians provided clear and concise explanations for managing these difficulties. Additionally, information was provided about ongoing research and upcoming new medications to improve treatment in the future.
