Fire breaks out in building near Mundka Metro station, 6 fire tenders rushed

New Delhi: A fire broke out at a building near Mundka Metro station. Six fire tenders were rushed to the spot. It is the same building which suffered a massive fire earlier also. The call about the fire was received by the Delhi Fire Service from Mundka at around 4:45 pm.

On May 14 last year, 27 people died and 12 were injured in a massive fire that broke out in a four-storey building in Mundka. The Delhi government had announced Rs 10 lakh each to the families of people who lost their lives in the Mundka fire incident and Jamia Nagar restaurant last year. Apart from this, they also announced to provide financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to the injured in both incidents.

Meanwhile, a fire also broke out at a tyre shop in Delhi’s Mayapuri. 17 fire tenders had to be rushed to the site. The fire was controlled in four hours.

In the recently released data by the Delhi Fire Services, the capital city had over 16,500 fire-related incidents that claimed 82 lives while more than 700 people were injured in these incidents in 2022. The major fire incidents that claimed the maximum number of lives were reported in May, including the fire in Mundka.
