
New Delhi: A fisherwoman’s complaint to Rahul Gandhi has landed Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy in a controversy with BJP leaders accusing him of ‘mistranslation’. BJP shared the video and accused him of lying.
Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi is on a two-day visit to Puducherry amid the going political rift in the union territory.
Accompanied by CM Narayanasamy, Rahul Gandhi interacted with the fishermen community, a woman from Solai Nagar shared her woes. She complained to the Congress leader that the Chief Minister did not even visit her family in the aftermath of a cyclone. To which CM Narayanasamy mistranslated it for Rahul Gandhi and said that she was praising the work he done after the cyclone.

BJP leaders shared the video to target Congress, BJP member CT Ravi tweeted as said that Congress leaders are competing to tell lies.

BJP Rajya Sabha MP from Karnataka, Rajeev Chandrasekhar took to Twitter to say, “One more lie from Rahul’s roadtrip of lies in #Puducherry; Old lady says you hvnt visited us after Cyclone; Rahuls CM Narayanswamy translates – lady is saying I visited her during Cyclone n gave relief.”
Rahul Gandhi’s interaction with the community created social media buzz after he asked for a separate ministry of fisheries.
Union ministers Giriraj Singh and Smriti Irani took to Twitter to take a swipe at the Congress leader’s ignorance and attempt to “spread misinformation.” Both ministers slammed the Wayanad MP and did so in Italian!
