From submerged villa to tech workers going office by boats: Here are 5 must-watch PICS of Bengaluru rains

The residents of the city had to use tractors as a source to commute from one place to another, pictures of which surfaced online

New Delhi: Bengaluru is facing a flood-like situation owing to the downpour in the last two days in the city. Heavy rainfall across the southern region of Karnataka has been predicted by India Meteorological Department (IMD) in next two days.

Shocking images have emerged from various parts of the capital of Karnataka with flooded neighbourhoods and workers reaching to their offices by boats.

Luxury cars worth lakhs of rupees were completely submerged while being parked in the parking of residential societies, on the other hand, tractors were used to rescue residents at some places.

A pic of one of the lavish villas in the posh Yamalur area in Bengaluru was shared on social media wherein water entered the living room. The living space here is worth crores of rupees.

The process of escaping from one’s waterlogged locality or residence and migrating to a safer place became the top priority in various regions with locals being evacuated by the disaster management teams in boats.

The residents of the city had to use tractors as a source to commute from one place to another, while many tech workers were also left with using the same ride in order to reach the office.

As per the IMD data, the Bengaluru City observatory recorded 251.4 mm of rainfall in the last four days, which happens to be the highest 24-hour precipitation in the last 34 years.

Senior IMD scientist RK Jenamani said, “This was not a localized phenomenon and excess rainfall has been reported in Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, north interior Karnataka, and south interior Karnataka in the last one week”.
