Gujarat Assembly Election results 2022: Winners, Losers and Party-wise Vote Percentage

New Delhi: In Gujarat, the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is ready to form its government for the 7th time. As announced by the BJP earlier in the election, Bhupendra Patel will again become the Chief Minister of the state for the second time.

Bhupendra Patel-led BJP has won 156 seats out of 182 seats in the 2022 Assembly election while the Congress bagged only seats. Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP secured fives seats in the election for the first time in the state.

2017 Gujarat assembly results

In the last election held in 2017, the BJP bagged 99 seats. The Congress managed to get 78 seats after a gap of over 30 years. The Congress was followed by BTP (2), NCP (1), and IND (2).

BJP chose its CM to face Vijay Rupani who succeed Anandiben Patel. Rupani was replaced by Bhupenderabhai Patel for the fourteenth assembly.

Exit poll predictions

The exit poll predictions by Aaj Tak, BJP will get between 129-151 seats, followed by Congress+NCP 16-30 seats and AAP 9-21 seats. As per the ABP News-CVoter, BJP will get 128-140 seats, followed by Congress+NCP (31-43) and AAP (3-11).

According to India TV-Matrize, BJP was predicted to win 112 to 121 seats, followed by Congress+NCP (51-61), and AAP (3-11). News 24-Today’s Chanakya had given 150 seats to BJP, 19 to Congress and 11 to AAP.

Vote percentages of parties in Exit Polls

As per the voting percentage of the political parties, BJP was expected to garner a vote share of around 46 per cent of the votes, followed by the Congress-GFP (25%), and AAP (15%).
