Gyanvapi Mosque Survey: Twitter erupts after ‘high tension’ as management warns protest

The issue has become so sensitive as the management committee of the Gyanvapi mosque is against the order and announced to oppose the court’s decision.

New Delhi: At the Kashi Vishwanath-Gyanvapi complex in Varanasi, the video-graphic survey will begin with a team of lawyers appointed by a local court from 3 pm on Friday. However, the issue has become so sensitive as the management committee of the Gyanvapi mosque is against the order and announced to oppose the court’s decision. It is expected that the survey will take three to four days.

Last week, the joint secretary of Anjuman Intejamiya Masjid Managing Committee said, we will not allow anyone to enter the mosque. They, however, assured to oppose the survey in a ”peaceful manner”.

The order of the videography was come on April 26 by the court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) of Varanashi, Ravi Kumar Diwakar.

Before the survey begins, many people took to Twitter to share their reactions to the survey.

”Why Peaceful Community Opposing Videography inside Gyanawapi Masjid? Even After Court Order !!,” wrote a Twitter user namely Abhinu.

”Gyanvapi mosque management committee has decided to oppose the decision of Court to conduct videography & survey inside its premises on May 6 and 7. Why are they not following the court order? What are they afraid of? The truth can’t be hidden for long,” wrote another Twitter user.

”So Gyanvapi mosque management has decided to oppose court order for videography inside the complex Wonder what is the problem? What are they trying to hide? Allow videography inside Kashi Vishwanath-Gyanvapi mosque complex Let us all see wonderful Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb inside,” tweeted a user namely Abhishek.

The case was started when Delhi-based Rakhi Singh, Laxmi Devi, Sita Sahu, and others demanded permission for daily worship on the outer wall of the Gyanvapi mosque.
