Hathras horror: Unravelling the turn of events which hint at ‘conspiracy’ to give it a political spin

Hathras horror triggered national outrage while Rajsthan rape went almost unnoticed. Unravelling the pertinent question – Was there a political conspiracy to incite riots in UP?

New Delhi: The Hathras episode sent shockwaves across the nation, created mass outrage and triggered calls for execution of Nirbhaya’s tormentors. However, conflicting claims/complaints to police by victim’s family members, post-mortem report and forensic report doesn’t corroborate the facts of the story.

The 19-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by 4 men and left to die on September 14. She succumbed to her injuries at Safdarjung hospital in Delhi on Sept 29, a day after being admitted here. Moreover, her quick and forced cremation brought intense criticism for the UP police as well as state govt.

Hathras-case

Political parties are up in arms against the inhumane treatment of 19-year-girl in UP’s Hathras and are demanding Yogi Adityanath’s resignation. Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi have tried visiting Hathras and on way to the city, Congress workers got into physical altercation with UP Police. TMC delegation also tried ramming into the village to meet victim’s family. But, the question arises – is it all politics or real concern for victim’s family or are parties just trying to take mileage from the extremely sad incident.

‘Gangrape narrative’ after leaders visited victim at hospital

According to a leading Hindi Daily, as the victim was getting treatment in Aligarh’s JN Medical college, some leaders started visiting her. First twist to this case came on September 19 when she claimed she was harassed by assaulters. Leaders kept visiting her, till 2nd FIR was filed in the case on September 22 based on victim’s statement. She told police about rape and named three accused, it was then case of gangrape and attempt to murder was added. Those accused were arrested the next day.

Post-mortem report and Forensic report dismiss gangrape

Prashant Kumar, ADG (Law & order) briefed media a day before and categorically dismissed charges of rape, citing the official post-mortem and forensic report. He said there was no semen found on her body and or in the viscera sample. She died of the neck injury as she suffered serious injuries on cervical spine in the assault.

The UP top cop also warned of action against rumour-mongers as well as those spreading fake information over the incident.

Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Ravi Shashtri today slammed the Opposition for its divisive politics over Hathras incident and called out their ‘rape tourism’. He said that rather than paying heed to official finding, the Opposition is bent on giving it a caste colour and attempting to instigate caste-war in Uttar Pradesh.

Outrage over Hathras horror, silence on Rajasthan rape

The bigger question is was there any conspiracy hatched in the garb of alleged gangrape in Hathras. Did political parties smell a chance to instigate riots or incite a war between Dalit and Thakur community, so as to reap political benefits. Is the Opposition, in lack of issues, resorting to such tactics to corner Yogi Adityanth govt?

Was there any conspiracy to incite riots in UP?

Gandhi siblings are in overdrive to visit family in Hathras despite similar incident happening in Rajasthan. They have failed to utter a word against brutality with a girl child in Ashok Gehlot-ruled state but are exploiting all means to give Hathras a political colour.

An audio clip, accessed by OpIndia, calls the Congress party ‘bluff’ and establishes it as pre-planned script by Congress. In the audio clip, a man is heard telling victim’s brother that ‘Priyanka Gandhi will come, stay at home’.

Some TV reporters are also under the cloud after their audio conversation with victim’s brother went viral. In one such audio, a TV reporter is heard persuading him to record a confession video of father.

Rajasthan tops list in rape cases, still no outrage

Looking at the chart, one can easily make out that Rajasthan is the worst state when it comes to brutality and outraging the modesty of woman. It sits on top of the table, still neither the Opposition nor the Lutyen’s lobby has cared to raise a hue and cry about it.
