Hyderabad’s Gopanpally flyover in a mess for over one year, commuters facing harrowing time

The flyover was supposed to be completed in a year’s time but the deadline has been stretching beyond stipulated timeline, again & again.

New Delhi: The Gopanpally flyover in Hyderabad was supposed to emerge as landmark destination in the city while also serving as one of the arterial roads but the construction work has been stalled and halted for many months and it’s the people who are facing a harrowing time.

The flyover was supposed to be completed in a year’s time but the deadline has been stretching beyond stipulated timeline, again & again.

Many users, who go through the grind on daily basis, shared their traumatic experience of using the highway. In fact, a couple of commuters also filed an RTI to elicit exact deadline set by government.

Vijay Ivaturi, who uses the road daily, filed 4 RTIs last year seeking information on its proposed completion and update about pending works. The Roads department replied to his query but the user didn’t find it satisfactory and hence kept filing RTIs one after another.

In one of the RTI reply, the department informed that while work was going on the flyover but managing the damaged surrounding roads didn’t come in the scope of the project.

The answer left the user dismayed & disappointed. However, there are many like him who suffer the daily pain of getting stuck in traffic for long hours. All they want is the resolution of their grievances but in spite of solutions, their problems & complaints about traffic chaos has been piling on.

The potholed roads, littered with stones & dust remain a daily hassle for commuters.

Pawan Kalyan’s campaign to expose pathetic roads

Alarmed at the situation, the Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan also launched a digital campaign recently ‘Good Morning CM Sir’ to highlight the pathetic roads in the city and also pressure the Jagan Reddy govt for quick redressal of the issue.
