“I have no dearth of weapons because…”: UP Police chargesheet mentions recorded statement of Atiq Ahmed

The last rites of Atiq Ahmed’s son, Asad will be performed in Kasari Masari graveyard.

New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh Police submitted the chargesheet in the Umesh Pal murder which includes a recorded statement of mafia turned-politician Atiq Ahmad  in which he had claimed that he has no dearth of weapons because of his connections with Pakistan’s spy agency ISI and proscribed terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba.

In the statement, Atiq Ahmed claimed the locals collected the weapons that were dropped from Pakistan with the help of drones.

He also said that if he is taken to that lace he can help the Police recover money and arms & ammunition used in the incident.

Mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were on Thursday brought to Dhoomanganj Police Station in Prayagraj after Prayagraj Chief Judicial Magistrate court sent them to four-day police custody.

Meanwhile, Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad and his aide Ghulam who were wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case were on Thursday killed in an encounter by Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) in Jhansi.
