IAF’s 2 fighter aircrafts crash in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district

Initial reports suggest that the incident happened when two fighter planes of the Indian Air force (IAF) collided with each other.

New Delhi: A major mishap happened in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district on Saturday. Two fighter planes of the Indian Air Force (IAF) namely Sukhoi-30 and Mirage 2000 are said to have crashed in the fatal crash.

Initial reports suggest that the incident happened when two fighter planes of the Indian Air force (IAF) collided with each other, however, this couldn’t be confirmed by any official authority.

Sukhoi-30 was led by 2 pilots while Mirage 2000 was carrying 1 pilot when the crash happened. According to reports, both pilots are safe while rescue operation is underway at the spot.

Wreckage of the fighter pilots is being cleaned and search is on for tracing the third pilot.

On the reports of collision, the IAF is yet to make a statement and a court of inquiry will establish whether mishap was triggered by mid-air collision or not.

IAF is yet to release any official announcement about the reported collision.

More details awaited. Sources said that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is in touch with Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Anil Chauhan and IAF chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari on the issue.
