New Delhi: In the latest development between India and China, the soldiers of both countries were involved in a tense face-off along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). It is reported that 30 soldiers received injuries during the incident, which took place on December 9.

According to the news agency ANI, soldiers from both sides received minor injuries. However, the face-off did not last long as both sides immediately disengaged from the area.

After the incident, the Army Commanders of both countries in the area held a flag meeting to restore peace and tranquillity in accordance with structured mechanisms.

Owing to a different perception regarding the border in certain areas along the LAC in Tawang Sector in the northeastern state, the soldiers of both sides face each other several times, leading to a face-off.

The trend is reportedly has been since 2006 as both sides patrol the area up to their claim lines.

In its statement, the Indian Army said few personnel from both sides have suffered minor injuries. ”On December 9, PLA troops contacted the LAC in Tawang Sector which was contested by own troops in a firm and resolute manner. This face-off led to minor injuries to few personnel from both sides,” read the statement.

The latest development came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Chinese President Xi Jinping at the G20 summit in Indonesia’s Bali in November.
