New Delhi: Two young women who fell in the raging river flow of Ganga in Rishikesh while rafting were rescued from drowning by members of the Indian Army Rafting team on Saturday. The video that was reportedly captured by a witness on his mobile phone camera has now gone viral on social media.

“Two civilian girls were rescued by one Indian Army Rafting team member today at Phool Chatti in Rishikesh. These girls fell out of a civilian raft and would have drowned if not rescued in time”, told an Indian Army official.

However, the viral video soon served the purpose of carrying out a meme fest for Twitteratis who figured that all the safety measures were taken by the craft crew from where the girls had fallen as they had their life jackets on, which would have hardly let them drown.

“This is very common in rafting. Nothing to worry about”, wrote one user.

“Good job, but these things happen on a regular basis, youtube is full of these videos. Nothing to worry about”, another said.
