Indian man arrested after attempting to open emergency door during Paris-Bengaluru flight

As per the report, Mohit’s reason for attempting to tamper with the emergency door was to test the arming and disarming functions of the mechanism, a reckless and unauthorized experiment.

New Delhi: In a startling incident, a 29-year-old data engineer from Andhra Pradesh found himself in trouble after allegedly attempting to open the emergency door of an international flight from Paris to Bengaluru.

The incident occurred on July 15 and led to his subsequent arrest by the Bengaluru police upon the flight’s landing.

According to reports from The Times of India, the man has been identified as Venkat Mohit, who was on his way to Bengaluru to visit his aunt aboard an Air France flight. It was during the journey that Mohit made the risky move of trying to open the aircraft’s emergency door, a critical safety violation.

Once the plane landed at Bengaluru’s airport, an Air France employee promptly filed a complaint with the airport authorities, citing concerns that the individual’s actions had endangered the safety of other passengers.

Subsequently, on July 16, the local police took Mohit into custody, and an FIR was registered against him at the Bengaluru Airport police station following the official complaint from Air France. Fortunately, the accused was granted bail after the arrest, pending further investigation.

As per the report, Mohit’s purported reason for attempting to tamper with the emergency door was to test the arming and disarming functions of the mechanism, a reckless and unauthorized experiment that could have had severe consequences for the safety of everyone on board.

The data engineer is said to be associated with a reputable American company and originally hails from Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. However, his ill-advised action has now landed him in legal trouble and subjected him to the scrutiny of aviation authorities and law enforcement.
