New Delhi: Indigo Airlines is facing criticism from people on the internet for denying boarding to an adolescent with special needs at Jharkhand’s Rachi airport. It is reported that the airline staff did not allow the travel saying the child’s behavior was not normal.
The video of the alleged incident is now going viral on the Internet. Reportedly, the child was crying due to hunger, thirst, anxiety, and confusion as he had a very uncomfortable car ride to the airport.

Owing to this, the airline’s staff warned the passengers, ”if the child did not quieten down and become normal, he would not let them board.”
The details of the incident were shared by a Twitter user Abhinandan Mishra, who calls himself a journalist.
”The Indigo staff announced that the child would not be allowed to take the flight. That he was a risk to other passengers. That he would have to become normal before he could be travel-worthy. And the staff then went on to state something on the line of behaviours such as this, and that drunk passengers deems them unfit to travel,” read the details shared by Mishra.

Here is the video of the incident that happened at Ranchi airport where @IndiGo6E airlines denies boarding to a special need child along with his child.
Seems lack of empathy from Indigo staff, not the first time though.
Indigo to issue a statement shortly. @JM_Scindia https://t.co/5ixUDZ009a pic.twitter.com/SyTNgAQIT6— Dibyendu Mondal (@dibyendumondal) May 8, 2022
It is reported that the co-passenger came in support of the child and his parents. They assured the staff that as co–travellers, they had no objection to the child and his parents boarding the flight.
Moreover, there was a delegation of doctors among the passengers of the same flight who requested the official to allow the child to travel. But, all the requests and pleas went in vain.
The flight flew to Hyderabad, leaving behind three passengers, including child and his parrents.
