‘It’s not late yet, submit data by Aug 13’: Health Minister slams Sisodia over oxygen deaths report

In a much public spat, Manish Sisodia claims it didn’t receive any letter from Centre enquiring about oxygen deaths while Health Minister shares screenshots of letter it sent on July 26 and sought answers by August 13.

New Delhi: Politics is again peaking over oxygen shortage deaths during the second Covid-19 wave as the Centre and Delhi government are caught up in fresh war of words. Despite the much public backlash over denial of Oxygen deaths by both Centre & states, the Delhi government apparently went a step ahead to score political points.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday claimed that the AAP govt didn’t receive any letter from the Centre, asking it to share details on the deaths due to oxygen shortage.

Taking exception to Delhi Deputy CM, the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has countered his claims and informed that Delhi govt was given questionaire on sharing details of oxygen deaths on July 26. However, it didn’t take cognizance of the letter nor did it reply to it.

Mansukh Mandaviya has also shared the evidence (screenshots) of mail issued to Delhi govt.


What Sisodia said on O2 deaths & Centre

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Tuesday claimed that it didn’t receive any letter from the Centre, enquiring about the deaths due to shortage of oxygen.

“I read it in a newspaper Modi govt has received a response from 13 states out of which 1 state has admitted to oxygen-related deaths and others have denied,” Sisodia said in a video.


“We have also learnt that states were given time till August 13 to respond to the Centre’s queries on the issue. However, we (Delhi government) have received no letter from the central government with any query on oxygen deaths,” said Sisodia in a video press briefing.
