J&K: Burqa clad woman hurls grenade at CRPF camp in Sopore, VIDEO surfaces

In the video, a couple of pedestrians and two-wheelers can be seen walking by when the woman approaches the CRPF camp. She could be seen rummaging through her handbag before digging out an object and then flinging at the CRPF base.

New Delhi: In a shocking development, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Kashmir’s Sopore came under attack by a burqa clad woman who hurled a petrol bomb at the outpost.

The incident took place at around 7 PM on Tuesday and her suspicious movement was captured on CCTV cameras.

According to reports, the woman hurled petrol bomb at the CRPF personnel. The incident led to chaotic scenes and some are said to be injured in bomb attack.

Passerby were seen scrambling to safety while CRPF personnel used water buckets to douse the fire.

She could be seen rummaging through her handbag before digging out an object and then flinging at the CRPF base. After hurling the sharp object, the burqa woman runs away from the spot.

The incident happened near the SBI office, situated close to CRPF’s main chowk in Srinagar. Following the bomb attack, the area was cordoned off and security forces are doing combing operation to nab the attacker.

CCTV footage is being scanned to identify the attacker however the identity of woman attacker is yet to be established.

This is second incident of hurling grenade at a CRPF camp in the valley in past 10 days. On March 19, the terrorists had hurled grenade at CRPF camp in Babapora, leaving 1 jawan injured.
