New Delhi: The 21-day nationwide lockdown has brought all modes of commutation to a grinding halt, with people and migrants being stuck to whichever place they are. Life across the country is on a standstill, but only for the better.

However, the fallout of this lockdown has meant troubled times for some. A person in Gujarat found himself beset by troubles, as his mother expired in native place and he was unable to visit his hometown due to lockdown.

The person named Girani Sharma approached many leaders and sought their assistance for facilitating his travel to hometown so that he could attend his mother’s cremation but to no avail. After the authorities turned a blind eye, the man turned to the journalist Rohit Sardana for help. Sardana obliged him and sought help from the Gujarat government on his behalf.

BJP MLA Harsh Sanghavi tweeted, “Work has been done. Permission has been granted.”

The grieving man later took to Twitter to express gratitude to the journalist Rohit Sardana and BJP local MLA Harsh Sanghavi and also the DM, saying that if they didn’t go beyond the call of their duty, he wouldn’t have been able to attend his mother’s cremation.
