New Delhi: National Commission for Women (NCW) member and actor Khushbu Sundar has opened up one being sexually abused by her father at the age of 8. She described the incident as the “toughest” thing.
She also said that she was afraid that her mother would not believe her.
While talking to Barkha Dutt for Mojo Story, she said that her father would “beat up” and her mother has gone through “most abusive marriage”.
Sundar further said that it was at the age of 15 when she thought that it was enough and she started revolting against him.
She said that she was not even 16 when he left us with whatever they had.
Annaatthe actor said that as a child she has gone through a trauma that made her scarred for life while she is fighting for others today.
She said that it was not easy for her to deal with abuse as a child both mentally and emotionally.
Sundar further said that despite going through all these inside the four walls, then you are threatened to not talk about it to anyone as they will face the consequences

Khushbu Sundar has worked in several films as a lead actress and she still continues to act, but working for women’s rights on the political front is one of her biggest motivations.
