Know about Army’s Agnipath Scheme, here is how you can be part of it

There will be no entrance test for scheme but those recruited will have to go extensive training for getting a job in the civilian area.

New Delhi: The Indian Army is all prepared for roll out of Agnipath recruitment scheme under which common people can also enrol themselves and become a part of the Men in Uniform. Under the scheme, youth can get them enlisted for a period of 3 years.

All this may become a reality if the Army gets approval from the Union government in this regard. According to top placed sources, the top officers of the three services are making presentations before the government in this regard.

During the period of 3 years of service, the ‘temporary troops’ will be known as Agniveers (fire warriors) and will be trained in various disciplines and deployed at various locations. While it’s more of a voluntary participation, the defence forces would have the option of retaining them in service, depending on performance.

Sources suggest that the plan is being contemplated & debated for long but the emphasis on it increased during Covid-19 pandemic as recruitment in the three services got hampered seriously. The gap in recruitment has resulted in about 1.25 vacancies.

How youth can benefit from Agnipath scheme

Army’s Agnipath scheme could not just be gamechanger but also an extensive tool to churn out trained personnel, year after year. As per the plan, soldiers who will be relieved from three-year service will be provided assistance in getting civilian jobs. A couple of corporates have also shown interest in ‘Agniveers’ as there is dearth of trained & disciplined manpower.

Also, this will give a chance to nation-loving citizens who want to serve the country but don’t get a chance. As per plan, the scheme will be first implemented in Indian Army and then could be introduced in Indian Air Force and Indian Navy also.
