New Delhi: Popular sitcom Lapataganj’s actor Arvind Kumar breathed his last on July 11 following a heart attack.
The news has been confirmed by co-star Rohitashv Gour, known for his lead role in the show, who also disclosed that Kumar had been facing financial stress. In an interaction with Indian Express, Rohitashv Gour shed light on the financial difficulties that Kumar was experiencing. He stated, “Yes, he passed away two days back, and it’s unfortunate news. After Lapataganj ended, we used to talk on the phone. He died of a heart attack, and he was very stressed because of finances.”
Gour further revealed that Kumar, like many other actors, had encountered challenging times during the COVID-19 pandemic and struggled to find work. He shared, “He used to talk to me about it because after the pandemic, things became very difficult for actors, and he was also struggling. No one comes forth to help actors in such tough times. I am lucky that I got work. Stress is what causes heart attacks. His family was in the village, so I never spoke to them or met them.”
The unfortunate incident occurred while the actor was en route to a shoot, leading to his immediate hospitalization. Expressing his support for Kumar’s family, Gour mentioned that he and his friends plan to provide financial assistance to them in their village.
It is worth noting that last year, another co-actor of Rohitashv Gour, Deepesh Bhan, passed away due to a heart attack, leaving behind his wife and an 18-month-old son. Following his sudden demise, his wife Megha faced the challenge of repaying a home loan worth Rs 59 lakh Bhan had taken to purchase their house. The loan was eventually paid off with the help of television actor Saumya Tandon, who raised funds, and other TV actors who contributed to the cause.
Arvind Kumar’s wife shared a post on the actor’s Facebook page, confirming her husband’s untimely demise. The news has left fans and colleagues in shock and mourning the loss of a talented actor.
