Meet UP Man who lost 93 elections; contesting 94th this time; wishes to make a century of loss

A man named Hasanuram Ambedkari will be fighting the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election from Agra’s Kheragarh seat to lose so he can complete a century of loss.

New Delhi: Nobody takes the political plunge with an intention to lose. But, here is a man who wants to script a history of sort with his election losses. A man named Hasanuram Ambedkari will be fighting the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election from Agra’s Kheragarh seat for 94th time and the fear of debacle isn’t weighing over his mind, rather he wants to take this opportunity to score a hundred.

Hasanuram Ambedkari has already lost 93 elections

Reportedly, he contested his first election in 1985. Till now, he has fought many elections including Lok Sabha, state Assembly, and panchayat elections from different seats. He recently contested the zila panchayat elections in 2021.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Ambedkari also jumped into the fray from Agra and Fatehpur Sikri seats.

Notably, he once filed his nomination for the post of the President of India in 1998 but could not fight the election as his nomination was rejected.

All in all, he has so far lost 93 elections.

Who is Hasanuram Ambedkari?

Hasanuram Ambedkari is an MNREGA job cardholder and works as a farm labourer, according to reports.

Ambedkari said that he follows the ideology of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar and has been contesting elections on his ideology. He will contest the UP election as an independent candidate.

He is reported to have worked for the BSP in UP but denied a ticket when he demanded in 1985.

‘’I was ridiculed and told that not even my wife would vote for me. I was deeply disheartened and since then, I have been contesting every election as an independent candidate,’’ Ambedkari told the newsmen.
