Mission Shakti: Over 7.81 lakh benefit from Kanya Sumangala Yojana, 1.5 lakh more girls to join program

For upliftment of daughters in the state, the state government will link as many as 1.50 lakh eligible girls with the Kanya Sumangala Scheme and will transfer the grant amount directly to their bank accounts in state-level mega event.

New Delhi: Yogi Government continuing its thrust on pro-women, pro-rural and pro-poor initiatives, will lay special emphasis on the welfare of women and empowerment of daughters in the state through its Massive Mission Shakti 3.0 campaign across the state starting from August 21.

Ensuring safety, dignity and self-reliance, Mission Shakti has set a new landmark in women’s empowerment. Assuring them once again, the government of Uttar Pradesh will launch it in a New Avatar — Mission Shakti 3.0 — with renewed focus on women comprising all sections of the society.

The preparations in view of the Mega Mission Shakti Campaign with new objectives have been completed at the administrative level. In pursuance of the CM’s directives, the programmes have been prepared keeping in mind that the benefits and information of the pro-women golden schemes implemented for the upliftment of women and daughters benefit all the eligible women without any discrimination.

Through its visionary ‘Mission Shakti’ campaign, the state government has worked extensively to empower daughters and women in the state. After the success of the first and second phase of Mission Shakti, the state will kick start its new phase from August 21 which is scheduled to run till December.

In a bid to encourage women, the state government will also honour women health workers, doctors, self-help groups, entrepreneurs and women belonging to voluntary organisations for their extraordinary achievements during the first and second phase of Mission Shakti and for their contribution towards the development of the state. As many as 75 such women will be honoured at the district level through which the mission shakti campaign will be linked with the Amrit Mahotsav.

Grant amount will be sent directly to accounts of 1.5 lakh eligible girls

Various golden schemes have been implemented in the state for the needy and deprived women and daughters in both rural and urban areas, due to which, despite the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic, the women and daughters of the state have continued to prosper. The results are promising with the females of the state now coming to the front and leading by examples in various spheres of development.

UP - Kanya Sumangala Yojana

The Kanya Sumangala Yojana implemented in the state from April 1, 2019, has benefited over 7.81 lakh girls so far. It is noteworthy that, as of March 2021, this figure was 7.14 lakh and despite the Covid-19 pandemic, these figures have seen a significant increase.
