Mumbai traffic cops get ‘threat to Modi’ message on its WhatsApp helpline number; probe launched

According to reports, one of the audio clips says two persons have hatched plot to kill PM Modi. Both of them are believed to have connection with underworld don Dawooh Ibrahim in Pakistan.

New Delhi: Mumbai traffic police on Tuesday received threat messages against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on their helpline number. The threat messages came in form of audio clips on Mumbai Traffic Police’s WhatsApp Helpline number. At least, 7 audio clips are said to have been received by the Mumbai traffic police helpline number.

According to reports, one of the audio clips says two persons have hatched plot to kill PM Modi. Both of them are believed to have connection with underworld don Dawooh Ibrahim in Pakistan.

Cops have launched detailed investigation into the matter and are searching for clues, to trace the whereabouts of person who sent the threatening message.

Days ago, Pune police had received similar threat call to Prime Minister. In a hoax call, a person called up Pune Police control room and claimed that a plot was being hatched to kill PM Modi. He also told the helpline number that bombs will be planted at Pune & Mumbai railway stations to execute the plan.

Following massive manhunt, the cops tracked down the 38-year-old person who was said to be suffering from depression. The cops in its probe found that the man was annoyed with children’s noise from above his flat and made the hoax call out of desperation.

He had dialed emergency number 112 on October. When quizzed by cops, he said that he thought that police raids on the house will made teach the residents of building a lesson.
