‘Mungerilal ke haseen sapne’, taunts UP minister after AAP announces to fight 2022 Assembly polls

Siddarth Nath Singh said Kejriwal’s attempt to enter the state’s electoral politics was like ‘Mungerilal ke haseen sapne’ which, he added, would be called ‘Kejriwal ke haseen sapne’ after 2022 UP assembly polls.

New Delhi: Hours after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced to contest Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in 2022, state minister Siddharth Nath Singh took a sharp jibe on AAP’s planned foray in UP electoral politics.

Singh called Arvind Kejriwal ‘a habitual liar’ and also raised questions on AAP govt’s administration skills during Covid-19 crisis in the national capital.”

“The person who had been summarily rejected by the people of this state before, has gumption to justify his claim of good governance which has been an abject failure when it is required the most, UP minister and spokesperson Sidharth Nath Singh said addressing media persons.

Singh said Kejriwal’s attempt to enter the state’s electoral politics was like ‘Mungerilal ke haseen sapne’ which, he added, would be called ‘Kejriwal ke haseen sapne’ after 2022 UP assembly polls.

‘Mungerilal ke haseen sapne’ was a popular comedy show of the 1990s.

He said, “It is most surprising that Delhi CM has something to comment on the UP government despite he has failed the expectations of Delhi on more than one occasion.”

Kejriwal - Yogi

“When you talk about Coronavirus management, you should be able to answer the questions regarding the present pandemic situation in the national capital. We are ready for a debate. Everyone has the right to fight the elections in a democracy, but you should also come with answers for your poor administrative abilities,” the UP Minister said.

Firing another salvo at Delhi CM, he said that Yogi government has made payment of cane farmers to the tune of 1.12 lakh crore, more than the total budget of Delhi government.“
