Special ₹ 75 coin to be unveiled by PM Modi on May 28.

New Delhi: The Ministry of Finance said on Thursday said a special Rs 75 coin will be launched to commemorate the inauguration of the new parliament building on May 28.

The special Rs 75 coin will serve as a tribute to India celebrating 75 years of independence. The coin will be unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (May 28).

How will the coin look?

The coin will have the face of the lion capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with ‘Satyamev Jayate’ inscribed below, on the left periphery the word ‘Bharat’ in Devnagri script and on the right periphery with the word ‘India’ in English.

The coin will also hold the Rupee symbol ‘’ and denominational value ‘75’ below the lion capitol.

On the other side of the coin, the image of the Parliament complex will appear.

Weight of the Rs 75 coin:

The standard weight of this special coin will be 35 grams, the shape will be circular and its diameter will be 44 millimetre. It will also have 200 serrations.

The coin will be made up of quaternary alloy with 50 percent silver, 40 percent copper, 05 percent nickel and 05 percent zinc.

Golden ‘Sengol’ to be kept in the new Parliament building

Also, a  golden ‘Sengol’ has been moved to the national capital ahead of the inauguration of the new Parliament building. Sengol was earlier kept in Allahabad Museum.
