New Delhi: Yogi Government’s novel initiative of One District, One Product (ODOP) is forming deeper relations with its consumers through social media in a very engaging manner. People across the globe are connecting with each other through the ODOP’s twitter handle. When ODOP asked questions on its Twitter handle, a wave of nostalgia came over to hundreds of people.
The ODOP scheme is not just making the products of Uttar Pradesh recognized on the global stage and providing employment to the artisans and workers, but is also making interactive connection with public through the power of social media. With polls, questions, and quizzes all at fingertips, related to the product, around 24 crore people from the state are now interacting with each other over the ODOP’s Twitter handle. It’s such an easy way to start conversations with the audience and get them more involved in your brand.
The ODOP scheme launched in the year 2018 by the Yogi government of the state has successfully achieved its vision along with setting up an example in the country. The unique products of all the districts of the state have not only got a platform under this unique scheme, but the products of UP have been recognized globally. In this list, Terrakota of Gorakhpur, chikan embroidery from Lucknow, glassware from Firozabad, wooden toys from Chitrakoot, Kala namak rice from Siddharthnagar, etc. have got a new boost under the ODOP scheme. Exhibitions organized on the festivals have also attracted the interest of people towards these products.
ODOP brings on nostalgia
Social media has completely changed the game of marketing. And ODOP scheme is making all possible steps to reach its consumers. A few days ago a tweet was posted on the twitter handle of ODOP asking which district is famous for its wooden products. Under this question, four choices were given to the people. Rajesh Singh, who lives abroad, responding to the question, tweeted that district Chitrakoot is known for its wooden products. He further added that in his childhood, the whole day was spent playing with a wooden horse and train with friends. This question revived the old memories of all people like him.
Within few hours, hundreds of people refreshed their memories and shared them through messages on the twitter handle of ODOP.
International recognition
Apart from this, at International level, the sales of ODOP products have also increased through the use of online shopping website. The Yogi government has also signed MoUs with Flipkart, Amazon and other such e-commerce websites operating in India as well as abroad. It is to be mentioned that these handmade products are in great demand in overseas markets, especially in the US, UK and Australia.
The Government of Uttar Pradesh has approved an amount of Rs 250 crores in its budget 2021-22. Also, a budget amounting to Rs 100 crore has been allocated for the Chief Minister Yuva Swarozgar Yojana. At the same time, it has also been decided that no license will be required for the first 1,000 days to set up an industry in the MSME sector.
