New Delhi: Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan tweeted a picture of a bill that dated back to 1987, and netizens are stunned by the price of wheat back then. He shared the picture of a ‘J Form’ belonging to his grandfather, which showed the price of wheat as Rs 1.6 per kg.

The IFS officer shared his grandfather’s J Form of wheat produce sold to the Food Corporation of India (FCI). A ‘J form’ is the sale receipt of agricultural produce sold in the grain market.

Sharing the picture, he wrote that this is from a time when wheat was sold at Rs 1.6 per kg. He added that his grandfather had a habit of keeping all the bills and records and that he has all documents of crops sold by his grandfather in the last 40 years, from which one can study at home itself.

The tweet got viral on the internet and has received more than 42K views and more than 680 likes as of now. The bill took the netizens by surprise as most of them did not get to see a J form before this, while some were stunned by the wheat price.

A user commented that the J form shows the price to be Rs 164 but Parveen Kaswan clarified that it was the price per quintal. Another user commented that he was amazed by the fact that elders back then kept records of every single penny. Meanwhile, some users wrote that wheat still does not cost much in some areas.
